Who doesn't love an easy and quick pasta dish?? This dish was easy to prepare, and it could also be easily turned into a vegetarian dish if you just take out the ground chicken. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we enjoyed eating it!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 boxes of bucatini pasta
1 lb ground chicken
1 whole onion (diced)
4 garlic cloves
1/4 tsp red chili pepper
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1 jar of Trader Joe's three cheese pomodoro sauce (but you could use any other brands that you have access to)
3 parsley stalks (chopped finely)
Grated parmesan cheese
2 tsp olive oil
S+P
Directions:
In a hot pan add the 2 tsp of olive oil and turn heat on medium. Wait for the olive oil to heat up (about 1 min or so)
Add the diced onion for about 2 mins.
Add the ground chicken and mix in with the onion.
Cover and let cook for about 5 min or so while keeping an eye on it. Mix as needed.
S+P to taste
Add the 4 chopped or minced garlic (whichever one you prefer).
Add the three cheese pomodoro sauce, dried thyme, dried oregano, and mix well together.
Cover and let simmer for 20-30 min.
Add the chopped parsley (save some for garnish) and turn heat off.
*While the sauce simmers this is when you would be cooking the pasta. Follow the box instructions on how to cook the pasta. It is best to not over cook the bucatini and cook al dente. Only start cooking the pasta when the sauce is almost ready because you want to serve the bucatini pasta as soon as it is done.
*When the sauce and pasta are both finished place the cooked bucatini pasta into the sauce and mix together. Serve immediately and garnish with parmesan cheese and parsley.
Enjoy!
Poftan Buna!
